Overview & Contact
Founded in 2000, Rainforest2Reef is a U.S. based non-profit that is pioneering an emerging model for land and wildlife conservation. Rainforest2Reef’s mission is to protect biodiversity, maintain ecosystem services, and slow climate change by safeguarding tropical forests, coral reefs and the corridors connecting these threatened habitats. We do this by working in partnership with local communities to protect ecologically important lands through innovative mechanisms, use sound scientific research to manage and monitor protected areas, and develop non-extractive economic activities that improve livelihoods of local people.

The area we are seeking to protect extends from the Calakmul Biosphere Reserve, to the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, to the Mesoamerian Reef. This area is dominated by the great Selva Maya rainforest and is a critical habitat for threatened jaguars and migratory birds.
